Historic Downtown Sanford’s *hottest* new business is no doubt the Spice is Nice International Heat Market located at 106 S. Palmetto Ave.! Former Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens CEO Dino Ferri opened his doors to this blazing retail venue recently, specializing in spicy foods and groceries from around the world.
Unique products from the four corners of the globe, including spicy peanut butter, pasta, caviar, jelly, liquor mixes and more have found their way to Historic Downtown Sanford! Spice is Nice is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10am – 6pm, providing retail offerings and tastings in a refurbished space that Dino has complimented with reclaimed furniture from a Jacksonville architectural salvage.
“This is something I have always wanted to do,” said Ferri. “I have been making hot sauce for 30 years with ‘Hotter Than El Handcrafted Sauces’. The time is right for this venture. Sanford’s residential footprint is growing, and we want to be the local market where people can run out and grab some groceries.”
Spice is Nice already has their regulars, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Collaborations with Wondermade (try a blueberry ice cream with hot sauce called “Purple Haze”), The Old Jailhouse where the pretzels are served with Dino’s spice blend “Four Pepper Punch,” and several others have already begun this retail shop’s integration into the Historic Downtown Sanford community.
Time to add some heat to your day with goodies from Spice is Nice International Heat Market!
