The Historic Welcome Center –
Start your night off right at the Sanford Welcome Center with our community’s most colorful welcoming committee! Ashley Satine and her drag queen angels will be hosting a fabulous evening of artful drag paying homage to the big top! Art is a Drag is proudly in its fourth year and has become Historic Downtown Sanford’s premier drag event.
Jeanine Taylor Folk Art –
John “Cornbread” Anderson makes a rare appearance at Jeanine Taylor Folk Art for the opening reception of his new collection of art. Cornbread, as he is affectionately known, will debut a new assortment of his signature stylized woodland creatures. His work translates a deep seated respect for nature and all creatures great and small. Stop by to meet the visiting artist and enjoy complimentary lite bites.
Gallery on First –
After a lifetime career as a premier Disney artist, Mark Seppala has nestled in to the Historic Downtown Sanford community at Gallery on First. Featured artist for March, Mark’s work has a high impact Pop Art appeal. His creative rock’n’roll approach yields tributes to crowd favorites like the Beatles, Klaus Nomi, Andy Warhol and more. Visit Gallery on First to meet Mark and learn what inspires him!
Maya Books and Music –
Historic Downtown Sanford’s hippest indie books and record store is getting in on the Art Walk action! This Saturday and Sunday, Maya Books & Music will offer 20% off ALL photography, and architecture books. Maya Books has been serving up the rarest bound oddities in Historic Downtown Sanford for the past 16 years and continues to cater to the artsy crowd.
2nd Annual St Paddy’s Day Truck Pull and Food Truck Fiesta –
The green suds are flowing this Saturday for the 2nd Annual St Paddy’s Day Truck Pull coinciding with Sanford’s Art Walk and Food Truck Fiesta! Sponsored by the West End Trading Company and Celery City Craft, this festival is set to feature a variety of musical performances including Rosie O’Grady’s Highlanders Pipes and Drums. Be there by 6pm for the evening’s main event – the fire truck pull contest to benefit Special Needs Ability Program, Inc.!
